***Hearing Loss Assoc. of Ft. Worth***

First, this is a reminder of our Hearing Loss Association of Fort Worth meeting tomorrow, Saturday, February 9, at 10:00 AM here at the Goodrich Center. (Snacks at 9:30.) Hearing Loss Resource Specialist Karen Moulder will lead us in a fun learning experience using the format of the Who Wants to Be a Millionaire TV game. Don’t miss it!

Second, you are invited to attend Fort Worth Mayor Betsy Price’s news conference on Thursday to announce a new accessible warning system for Fort Worth residents who are hard-of-hearing, deaf, or who have other needs. This is a great step forward for us.

Here is the invitation from the emergency management office:

I would like to invite you to attend a news conference that we are holding to announce the Accessible Hazard Alert System (AHAS). The news conference will be held at 12:30 p.m., Thursday, February 14, in the Fort Worth City Council Chambers, City Hall, 1000 Throckmorton, Fort Worth. Mayor Price will announce the new alert service, and Fire Chief Jackson and Juan Ortiz will speak about the Special Needs Assistance Program (SNAP), Nixle.com and other programs available to Fort Worth residents with functional needs.
